Fiat OSCA 1500/ 1600 Spider history
The FIAT O. S. C. A. Spider was unveiled for the first time in the 1500 version at the Turin Motor Show in 1958. The "S" version was launched a little later, with front and rear disc brakes and a revised engine. The final step in the evolution was the 1600 S, which was built only between 1962 and 1963. The company of the Maserati brothers, O. S. C. A. (Officine Specializzate Construzione Automobili), developed this engine with racing genes – the car was built by FIAT. The additional features of this friendly and agile spider are the air intake in the hood and the disc brakes all around. The version offered here delivered 90 bhp, which, thanks to its light weight – Maserati‑typical – yields exhilarating performance. This 1500/ 1600 Spider is probably an intermediate model, as the driveline technology of the 1600 was installed in the 1500 Spider.
