Description
Rare 4-wheeled vehicle in original condition and in working order.
The company Noé Boyer & Cie of Suresnes in France belonged to the Gladiator Company and in 1899 began producing tricycles and quadricycle cars under the Phébus marque in addition to its own car production. Production ended in 1903. In England, the brand name was Automobilette.
At the end of the 19th century and the early 20th, cars and motorcycles became very popular among the well-off. In particular, tricycles (3-wheeled) and quadricycles (4-wheeled) were highly popular. Numerous competitions were organised over distances up to 1500 km.
Aster was a car maker in France, but also a major supplier of engine blocks for other brands. These began in the late 1890s and continued until 1910.
This quadricycle is 98% original; the front running boards, some pipes and a few small parts have been replaced. The engine still has its original piston. It did not need to be replaced. It has probably never been driven much, which also explains the condition of this quadricycle.
A unique opportunity to own a genuine pioneer! Tricycles are rarely for sale and a quadricycle certainly not.
