Description
Since its creation in 1975, the Lotus Esprit became famous in the film ‘The Spy Who Loved Me’ from the James Bond series, where the S1 version transforms into a pocket submarine. Subsequently, a second appearance in the film ‘For Your Eyes Only’ from the same saga (Lotus S3), and a third in ‘Pretty Woman’ (Lotus Peter Stevens edition, the same as our example) gave it a flourishing film career.
The Lotus Esprit’s career is long, almost 30 years! Obviously, it saw several versions and evolutions over the decades, especially in the late 1990s before production ended in 2004. However, up to 1996 and despite its evolutions, its engine remained a four‑cylinder, and the engineers afforded it a splendid end of life by grafting a V8 for its final years… Thus the V8 GT appeared, recognisable by its rear lights and also because you can see that it is the most modern version of the model (bumper, interior, sills, etc…).
NYC’s/ OXOTO has this fine example of the Lotus Esprit V8 GT for sale, delivered new in the UK in April 1998, and the steering wheel is thus indeed on the right. In grey with black leather interior, it currently totals 69, 500 miles. Even better, we have excellent provenance for this Lotus, with its service history, MOT/ test reports, correspondence and other invoices being substantial—see the full file on our site. It left England a few years ago before arriving in Belgium, with a collector who has kept it very well. The latter, having decided to sell it, had a major service carried out in February 2024 to bring it perfectly up to order.
Regarding the car’s bodywork, it is in very good condition! There is nothing to report, it shows no defect! No dents, no scratches, absolutely nothing…
The roof operation is particularly pleasant to use.
The interior also presents very well, nothing to report. The seats are in excellent condition, the carpets are clean, the dashboard looks good and is functional… Generally speaking, the car’s condition is truly impeccable.
Regarding the mechanicals, our example is in order, nothing to anticipate.
This Lotus Esprit V8 GT really drives very well, with steady handling, excellent braking, it is truly enjoyable to drive, despite right-hand drive.
A hydraulic lift is available on site to show you the underside of the vehicle.
Viewing/ Test drive by appointment only.
