Description
This Jaguar E-Type 4. 2 S2 3C Manual matching numbers, very richly equipped, was delivered new in the United States and thus benefits from a short gear ratio, ideal for quickly reaching the permitted speeds. It is presented in the classic Opalescent Silver Grey colour with a black leather interior, fully original in terms of seats, door panels and even the boot, made particularly practical thanks to the three-door configuration.
This example is equipped with chromed wire wheels, original mirrors, excellent panel gaps (Spaltmaße), a sports wood steering wheel, a sport twin exhaust, a modern radio in a classic style, air conditioning and two seat belts.
The 4. 2 litre six-cylinder engine – recognisable by its black rocker cover and regarded as the most reliable and easiest to maintain of the E-Types – is here paired with a new and extremely costly set of Weber 45 DCOE carburettors, as well as an aluminium radiator. The Weber 45 DCOE, horizontally opposed double-body carburettor developed in Italy, is famous for its high airflow, direct response and purely mechanical character. It is found on many sports cars such as Ferrari, Maserati, Alfa Romeo, Lotus, BMW and Ford competition engines.
The bodywork is sound and straight, while the older paint remains perfectly usable as is or can serve as a solid base for a concours restoration.
