Description
The Bentley T1 has always been the rarer sister car to the Rolls-Royce Silver Shadow. One in ten were Bentleys, and technically there was no difference between the two cars. The Bentley was often sold to people who intended to drive themselves (rather than being chauffeured), and had a more rounded bonnet to accommodate the Bentley grille.
Our example was supplied new by Franco Britannic Autos Ltd in Paris, and first registered on 6 September 1969 to a certain Mr. Paul Ueberschlag. The car was finished in the beautiful Shell Grey colour combination with a single fine red brick running line and a black Connolly Vaumol leather interior. When the car was restored in 2012, it has retained this colour combination ever since and it is truly stunning. Since acquiring the car, a full brake and suspension overhaul has been carried out and a new exhaust fitted. The air conditioning system has been serviced and blows icy cold air. Everything works well on the Bentley, and it offers a fairly refined drive for a car of 50 years. The interior has a lovely patina and the paint shows a few small signs of use, but the overall condition of this T1 is really good and it will be difficult to find a similar model with European (left-hand drive) specification that is rare.
It's a very cool car in a discreet colour combination and a chic 1960s saloon that can seat 5 adults in full luxury. A perfect car to float along this summer.
