Magnificent ID Super 5 with a long history, as evidenced by all maintenance invoices, documents, appraisal reports and APK forms. Includes the original French registration plate and the logbook of the French owner who had the DS for more than 18 years. All maintenance is documented there!
Imported into the Netherlands in 2003 by a renowned ID/ DS specialist, it was immediately sold to its sole Dutch owner. The purchase invoice and the RDW inspection report are available. It has therefore belonged to a single owner for 23 years and is now for sale due to family reasons.
Its owner was a genuine Citroën enthusiast and had the car serviced with almost obsessive care. A substantial amount has been invested to keep the car in perfect technical condition. Everything has been carried out by top ID/ DS specialists.
The Super 5 was delivered factory-new in the colour “Vert Argente AC 527” and the bodywork repainted in the original metallic colour. The paint quality is excellent, with a few signs of wear and minor imperfections. The bodywork is otherwise in good condition. Many stainless steel and chrome parts are original and show light signs of wear. The famous chrome wheel caps have been replaced and replacement parts are available. On arrival in the Netherlands the car underwent a full anti-corrosion treatment and thorough servicing. In 2006, its exacting owner had a Dinitrol treatment performed by the Netherlands’ leading Dinitrol specialist: Gosliga, in Leeuwarden. The car is therefore perfectly protected. Doors and tailgates close perfectly and the seals are also in perfect condition.
The interior is a stunning time capsule and almost entirely original! The roomy seats and rear bench have retained their original upholstery, the driver's seat having been retrimmed in the past. That seat is in perfect condition and the upholstery is intact. The other upholstery has yellowed, which is to be expected after 55 years. But a vintage car with so much authenticity is now rare. The switches, gauges and clock all work as they should, the headliner is intact and there is a central armrest at the front and rear.
The DS has therefore been perfectly maintained. There are only 2, 700 km on the odometer, with a full service history, including additional work such as replacing engine mounts, ignition switch, oil pressure sensor, hydraulic pump, wheel bearings, steering wheel covers, etc. In 2023, two new Michelin tyres were fitted, steering ball joints replaced and a full service carried out as well. In 2022, the following parts were replaced: clutch, heater radiator, exhaust, various rubbers, spark plug cables, the water pump with hoses, etc. In 2021, a reconditioned engine with adapted valve seats was installed. In 2017, a Landi 85-litre LPG installation was fitted, allowing the car to run perfectly, even on LPG. Gear changes are easy, the engine starts immediately and has ample power.
All invoices from the past 23 years are available for inspection and total no less than €35, 400 in servicing and work. Given its technical condition, the asking price is very attractive!
