Vehicle history:
The Citroën DS, French for Goddess (pronounced DS sounds like the French word for goddess: déesse), debuted in 1955 as a four-door saloon. Two years later, the outwardly largely identical, but technically simpler ID version was added. The car was regarded as sensational at its launch, both stylistically and technically. In addition to the distinctive, Flaminio Bertoni–designed bodystyling, the hydropneumatic suspension was among the notable features of the front-engined vehicle. Even before the DS saloon’s premiere, Flaminio Bertoni contemplated a cabriolet version. Bertoni’s first sketches date back to 1954. This vehicle was professionally rebuilt into its current cabriolet form between 2015 and 2019. At the same time, everything was technically and visually restored, so this goddess stands perfectly ready and drivable for relaxed outings. A very exclusive and exceptional vehicle.
