The fundamentals: sills, floors, lower wings, wheel arches and longitudinals are in excellent condition. Front and rear floors restored in 2022/ 2023 with the rest of the bodywork. Fuel tank also replaced. Alignments are perfect and true to origin. During dynamic drive trial, no abnormal rattles from the body or suspension components (ball joints, bushings...). Brakes are aligned and effective to model standards. Front discs and rear drums are fully functional with no seepage. Engine/ Transmission: The mechanical overhaul (engine, gearbox, axle) is fully functional (invoice €12, 415). The 4-cylinder starts instantly and idle is stable. In motion, the engine revs smoothly without hiccups or overheating. All four gears shift easily, with no hiccups, particularly in the synchros. Clutch bite is good. Icon of French elegance and an extremely rare car, the 404 Coupé is one of the few affordable French cars offering four real seats, with a placid yet very reliable engine and a line of rare elegance.
