Description

An authentic intergenerational English icon, beautifully restored! VEITURA is particularly pleased to present for sale this British icon born in the 1960s, which has undergone numerous variants and evolutions. The “Mini”, initially Morris Mini Minor and Austin Seven, launched simultaneously, started as an entry-level car designed after the Suez Canal crisis for BMC by the Anglo-Greek engineer Alec Issigonis. After only a short period of study, it was built in a residential area of Birmingham, England. It would later be sold under several marques known today such as Austin, Morris, Rover, Leyland… and even under the Spanish Authi and Italian Innocenti licences, before eventually becoming its own marque in 1969. Our magnificent MORRIS Cooper 1000 MK2 is ISLAND BLUE with an OLD ENGLISH WHITE roof. It is a French-specification two SU-HS2 carburettor version (four-cylinder, 998 cc, transverse, a first) with left-hand drive. It is fitted with a four-speed manual with synchronised gears. It has been professionally and meticulously restored in 2020 (complete dossier, invoices and detailed steps available) before the current owner’s “love at first sight” purchase… who wanted to acquire a model similar to one from his youth, owned in 1968… It is in very good overall condition in every respect, notably with a striking body and paintwork faithful to the original version and without defects. The photos speak for themselves… The interior upholstery is in very good condition and black: the standard rear bench in vinyl is complemented by two very stylish BB Seats bucket seats. The dashboard is period-correct and has been enhanced with a tachometer and a 35 cm NARDI sport steering wheel. Seat belts are fitted. The chassis and sills are in excellent condition with no corrosion. Notably, as with Cooper S models, there is an additional 25 L fuel tank for extended range, with two key ASTON-type caps (see photos). This example was first registered in October 1969 and has belonged to its current owner since July 2020. Our seller is a keen collector of classic cars and has owned several very beautiful pleasure vehicles. A trained automotive mechanic with a rich professional background, member of several clubs, and a fan of “Passion” motoring meets, he performs maintenance and servicing himself, using components that are period-correct. Not much has been done since purchase as less than 3, 000 km have been covered since the complete restoration… Notable items include near-new 165-70 R10 tyres (mounted on 4. 5 x 10 steel wheels of the Cooper S 1969 type), a new RC Maniflow exhaust identical to the original, a dynamo paired with a 12V battery and a modernised setup with the earth-side ground, … Nothing needs to be planned for the car today! A final inspection/ change of oil is planned before sale. Documentation and a few parts will also be supplied. As of today, the odometer shows 66, 900 km on the five-digit display. The registration document is Normal. The latest Vehicle Inspection (Contrôle Technique) was carried out in April 2026 and valid, as were all previous ones (supplied with the invoice dossier). A detailed expert assessment was also carried out by a professional in April 2026: it confirms, if needed, the high quality of the complete restoration and the finished vehicle! It is, of course, available in the seller’s file. A 2020 “British Heritage” certificate is also archived. Wonderful outings with fellow enthusiasts and pleasure rides await you with this beautifully sorted example… which attracts admiration on every excursion thanks to its timeless look and its gloriously illustrious competition history! The asking price – confirmed by the April 2026 expert assessment – is well positioned for a restored vehicle of this quality in today’s market, especially with the equipment and accessories fitted and supplied for sale, including: - Two handsome oblong mirrors (left/ right), - The sport and comfortable bucket seats, - The recently installed long-range headlights, - An additional NEIMAN-style steering wheel lock for security, - The pretty tachometer, - A two-tone compressor horn, - The Aston-key fuel caps, - The metal door latches for the famous sliding windows, - The period workshop manual supplied and related documentation, - … We invite interested parties to discover this MORRIS Cooper 1000 Mk2 without delay by contacting VEITURA to arrange a viewing...
