Description
Autobianchi Bianchina Transformabile: A Cabriolet Associated with the Eden Roc Hotel and Brigitte Bardot
The Eden Roc name used for certain versions of the Autobianchi Bianchina Cabriolet is inspired by the elegance and exclusivity associated with Mediterranean luxury, notably in relation to the Hotel du Cap-Eden-Roc in Antibes, an iconic venue frequented by many celebrities in the 1950s-60s.
As for Brigitte Bardot, she played an important role in the model’s popularity. Indeed, an Autobianchi Bianchina Cabriolet was gifted to her by André Chardonnet, the French importer of the marque. The car thus made the cover of Jours de France, the fashionable magazine of the era.
The Bianchina Eden Roc, born from the collaboration between Fiat and Autobianchi, represents a luxurious and distinctive interpretation of the legendary Fiat 500. Designed to appeal to a clientele seeking refinement and driving pleasure, this 1969 cabriolet version embodies compact elegance, ideal for summer escapes or urban rides with total ease.
A design full of charm and practicality
With its compact dimensions (only 3. 02 metres long), the Bianchina Eden Roc stands out for a refined aesthetic. The fully retractable fabric hood reveals a bright and welcoming cabin, designed to maximise the pleasure of driving with hair in the wind. Its bodywork features rounded lines typical of the 1960s, punctuated by elegant chrome details.
An iconic and sought-after model
Produced in only 3150 examples, the Bianchina Eden Roc has become a genuine collector’s item, prized for its timeless charm and rarity. This 1969 model is one of the last witnesses of an era when motoring combined mechanical simplicity with aesthetic elegance.
This vehicle is equipped with the 004 Sport engine of 499 cm3 and 21 hp
It is an evolution of the Fiat 500 engine with improved performance and a more dynamic behaviour.
