PLEASE READ THE AD CAREFULLY BEFORE CONTACTING
Hello, I’m selling my 1991 HONDA BEAT. It has around 152, 000 km (slightly increasing).
It’s a vehicle imported directly from Japan at the end of 2021. It hasn’t gone through the UK, which helped prevent rust from taking hold. I’m the sole French owner after the importer.
The vehicle is on a classic car log book (grey card) with all French papers, in order and in my name.
MOT up to date (completely clean, 0 defects).
ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT
* Electric windows
* Air conditioning
* Zebra print fabric interior
* Spare wheel
* Jack
* Soft top
* Parcel shelf
* Cassette player
Vehicle complete, functional and in very good condition.
OPTIONS / ACCESSORIES
As original from the factory, the vehicle includes:
* Set of FONDMETAL Mesh accessory wheels (tires OK)
* GATHERS radio with 4 speakers (2 of which are new)
* Soft top cover
* Zebra floor mats (reasonable condition for their age)
Accessories available as extras (not included)
If you wish, there is the option to add, for an additional payment:
* Black RS-Mach D01 Type1 hard top (very rare and in very good condition)
* Second set of wheels from CRIMSON Racing. This is the SPARCO N1 model (medium condition, yellow like the car). This reference was aimed at Kei cars at the time the car was released.
These are period parts, listed in the catalogue.
These accessories are rare; I do not include them. Price on request.
GENERAL CONDITION
The vehicle is in very good condition, given its age and the build quality of this type of car from that era. A few minor defects are present and detailed below.
EXTERIOR
The paint is in very good condition and does not blister. There are still minor defects on the hood and the right wing mirror (due to something having fallen on it during the boat journey).
A few paint touch-ups were done by the previous owner, but apart from that, the car looks very good.
Complete car (rare, many BEATs are incomplete)
No perforating rust trace (though I would recommend proactively treating the sills; it’s a common issue on BEATs)
No damaged body panels
Windscreen in very good condition
Soft top in good condition (even the rear glass)
INTERIOR
All plastics were refurbished two years ago, so they are in excellent condition.
No modifications, no holes or rough cutting like on many models.
No plastic discolouration.
No patching.
As for the seats, BEATs typically have worn, replaced or reupholstered seats. Here the original seats are in good condition. The driver’s seat has a repair (stitching) and there is a tiny repairable hole. The passenger seat is in excellent condition.
All controls work:
Screen
Tachometer
Buttons
Radio (Note: one button is missing on the radio)
MECHANICS
100% stock. No engine, exhaust or catalytic changes.
The ECU has been fully rebuilt to prevent future issues. On BEATs, faulty ECUs are almost a given after 30 years. This one was rebuilt by a professional who has previously refurbished many HONDA ECUs.
The car has been serviced by a HONDA classics specialist.
For a perfect mechanical reset, the following is to be expected:
* Timing belt (distribution)
* Possibly clutch (even if there’s no weakness yet)
All parts are available and can be sold with the car (including the clutch). An oil change will be done before sale.
MAINTENANCE
In addition to the ECU restoration:
* refurbishment of interior plastics
* rustproofing the floor pan
* restoration of the windscreen surround
* new exhaust system
* new exhaust mounts
* replacement of many small HONDA parts (fasteners, clips, hood supports)
* very recent headlights
* very recent battery (under a year)
* brakes OK
* recent oil change
Goes the distance.
