The designation “Fiorano” refers to Ferrari’s private testing track, the Fiorano circuit, built in 1972 near Maranello, where the marque’s cars are tested.
The Fiorano belongs to the “Grand Tourismo Berlinetta” (GTB) category, a term used by Ferrari to denote a two-seat sports car.
Introduced in 2006, it succeeds the Ferrari 575M Maranello launched in 2002, itself heir to the legendary Ferrari 550 Maranello, introduced in 1996 and a major symbol of the brand’s revival.
The 6. 0-litre naturally aspirated V12, a top speed of 330 km/ h and 0-100 km/ h in just 3. 7 seconds, the Ferrari 599 GTB is equipped with ceramic brakes as standard and features a “LC” mode for “Launch Control”, delivering blistering starts without having to modulate the accelerator. As for the sound, it grips you with every acceleration, a genuine symphony for enthusiasts.
Already notably refined on the Ferrari 360 Modena, the aerodynamics have been meticulously optimised once again, notably thanks to air passages between the rear window and the pillars, thus improving airflow. The new aluminium chassis incorporates the “Space Frame” technology which combines several assembly methods to reduce weight. The traction control system, named “F1-Trac” and inspired by Formula 1, acts as a super anti-slip device, controlling the power transmitted to maximise grip during accelerations.
Our example now. The most elegant, the most sportingly coherent, it takes a different stance, as a market reference. It pairs a Nero Daytona exterior with a Nero interior enhanced by red stitching across all interior surfaces, red carpeting, red seatbelts, and carbon fibre. This model is distinguished by its very sporty character, highlighted by the very rare 20-inch five-spoke anthracite wheels with red calipers on the 599 GTO.
