Description
This vehicle, registered on 23/ 02/ 1987 in Yorktown, Virginia, is one of the first models registered in the United States. In fact, the authorisation to market it dates from 01/ 02/ 1987.
On 30/ 06/ 2004 it was sold to a new owner in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, who worked for BMW.
This vehicle was imported into France in July 2024.
Since I acquired it: the Sealed Beam headlights have been replaced with headlights to European specifications, a complete new respray, *** exhaust system, and new tyres. That’s it! Everything else is in perfect condition, inside and out. The trusty BMW 2. 5-litre straight-six engine with Bosch Motronic injection purrs like it did in the first days, and its acceleration remains crisp and lively.
The burgundy leather seats are in very good condition (with adjustments: length, height, and backrest angle), as are the carpets—including the boot area and its spare wheel, fitted with an alloy wheel like the other wheels.
The hood works perfectly, and the hood fabric—also in very good condition—is waterproof and seals properly against the side windows.
Power steering, cruise control, ABS, oil cooler/ radiator, electric front and rear windows, onboard computer, and the original BMW cassette radio with electric aerial.
Full documentation is available: invoices dating back to 1987, including the original purchase, plus a favourable purchase “CT” report and the valuation/ expert report for insurance.
It’s been used for relaxed drives between classic cars, longer multi-day tours, and the pleasures of the baby boomer who’s making the most of retirement.
Having just been given the opportunity to step up to a new project, I need to make some space and fund it.
