First registered in April 1990 and supplied brand new in the UK, this right-hand-drive example shows 77, 730 miles on the odometer. Its metallic blue paintwork is complemented by a matching blue fabric hood, creating a beautifully balanced and timeless appearance.
The interior is trimmed in light grey leather with contrasting blue stitching, while the wide wood inserts across the dashboard and the centre console highlight the artisanal craftsmanship for which Bentley’s Crewe models of this era became renowned. The blend of light seats, blue accents and carefully finished woodwork gives the cabin an elegant, welcoming atmosphere.
The Continental Cabriolet was a truly exceptional car. With production limited to just 421 examples, it was built in far smaller numbers than its Rolls-Royce rival, and remains one of the rarest open-top Bentleys of its time.
Each car was bodied by Mulliner Park Ward, continuing the tradition of one of Britain’s most prestigious coachbuilders. Building a single vehicle took around four months, with a significant portion devoted solely to the complex, multi-layer hood. The result was a motor car finished to impeccable standards—reflecting Bentley’s position at the very top of the luxury market.
Under the bonnet sits the famed 6. 75-litre V8, mated to a four-speed automatic gearbox. Rather than focusing purely on outright performance, the Continental was designed to deliver generous torque, exceptional refinement and near-silent driving comfort—hallmarks of the big Bentley V8.
This model also holds an important place in Bentley history. Launched in 1984, it brought the prestigious Continental name back to the line after an absence of nearly twenty years. Historically reserved for the Grand Touring Bentleys, the name was perfectly suited to a car built to cover long distances across countries at speed, while still offering its occupants outstanding comfort.
The car has belonged to its current owner since 2007, demonstrating remarkable longevity. It comes with a comprehensive history file, including Bentley service invoices, as well as an inspection report compiled in 2017.
