Finished in its original beige shade paired with a red fabric interior, this Simca 1000 impresses above all with the quality of its restoration.
Far from a simple cosmetic refresh, this car has benefited from a full restoration carried out with a rare level of high standards. The bodywork has been completely redone, protected against corrosion then repainted, while the underbody has received anti-stonechip protection in body colour.
The result is outstanding. The whole car offers a level of uniformity rarely seen on a Simca 1000, down to the smallest details.
History and restoration:
Every intervention was carried out with the aim of getting the car as close as possible in presentation to a vehicle leaving the factory.
The engine was fully dismantled and overhauled:
- Replacement of the piston rings (segmentation)
- Replacement of the timing chain
- Valve lapping
- Replacement of the cylinder head gasket
- Carburettor cleaned by ultrasonic treatment, then fully set up
The running gear and braking were also rebuilt.
A great many ancillary parts were also replaced during the restoration: gaskets, window scrapers, fasteners, bolts and hardware, accessories and trim/ finishing elements.
