This magnificent Alfa Romeo Montréal comes from a knowledgeable collector and the car is in excellent condition!
During the 2017-2020 period, the car was upgraded to a very high standard.
The engine was fully overhauled and rebuilt; the SPICA fuel injection system was serviced by the best specialist in the world in the United States; and the suspension was improved with a Montreal handling kit developed by Harvey-Bailey, a former Autodelta driver and suspension specialist. In addition, the gearbox and brakes were rebuilt, the Bosch fuel pumps were replaced with Walbro pumps, and the exhaust has been renewed.
The bodywork was restored in places and fitted with a beautiful new paint system; the seats were retrimmed in beige leather and the dashboard instruments were overhauled.
The cost of all these upgrades totals around €50, 000. It’s easy to understand that this Alfa Romeo Montréal drives, handles, changes gear and steers perfectly!
The V8 sounds sensational, the 5-speed ZF gearbox shifts quickly and precisely, and the driving experience is wonderfully balanced between sport and comfort. Oh, we love these cars! The Montréal was designed by Bertone as a future concept car (based on the Alfa Romeo Tipo 33 racing car) and was exhibited at the Canadian World Show in Montreal in 1967.
In 1970, the concept became reality under the name Alfa Romeo Montréal, with a 200 hp version of the Tipo 33 engine mounted at the front.
The Alfa Romeo Montréal is a superb Grand Tourer, capable of covering long distances at high speeds, with great comfort for passengers and enough space for their luggage.
The Montréal accelerates from 0 to 100 km/ h in 7. 1 seconds and reaches a top speed of 220 km/ h: supercar-level performance for a 1970s GT!
