I'm selling a 2003 Mercedes CLK 500 equipped with the legendary M113 - 5-litre naturally aspirated V8 and the 5G-Tronic automatic transmission with torque converter (the most reliable).
Externally, the car presents very well for its age. The paintwork and lacquer are in very good overall condition despite a few minor defects, notably:
- A scratch on the right rear wing
- Lacquer and paint damage on the right side of the rear bumper
- A poorly executed touch-up on the left rear wing
- Two slight dents on the bonnet
- Creaking from the rear axle when going over large speed bumps with no impact on handling (Silentbloc? Wishbone?)
- The roof lining peeling away in certain places
As for the interior, it's very well preserved. The seats are in virtually new condition, the centre console shows no visible defects, the buttons and controls are functional and in very good condition, and the steering wheel also looks great.
All the electrics work (windows, sunroof, radio/ sat-nav, instruments, etc).
For interior defects:
- The roof lining peeling away in certain places
- The driver's window vibrates when the door closes (doesn't affect operation or sealing and no risk of damage)
Mechanically it's in perfect working order. The engine is dry with no leaks, as is the gearbox. It delivers all its power, revs up smoothly without misfires or complications. The gearbox doesn't slip and changes gear without issue or hesitation.
Recent work carried out:
- Full service (oil and filter change with Green sport air filter)
- Gearbox oil change and flush at a specialist
- Spark plugs and coils
- Gasket on both rocker cover seals
- Preventative recall for the sunroof at Mercedes (LG Pamiers)
