A true missing link between the classic Series 3 and the future Defender, the Stage One was the very first Land Rover utility vehicle to receive permanent 4x4 transmission and the legendary Rover V8 engine. In this highly sought-after extended wheelbase body, this is one of the most exclusive and coveted versions amongst collectors.
Far removed from its agricultural past, this example has been magnificently reimagined and restored in a high-quality 'Beach Car' configuration. With its rear load bed converted into an open-air lounge (facing bench seats) and nautical-grade upholstery, combining the authenticity of a vintage 4x4 with the elegance of the Riviera.
Produced over a mere three-year window (1982-1985), the combination of the Stage One chassis and V8 engine makes this model one of the rarest Land Rovers in the world. With virtually all period examples having been destroyed through intensive agricultural use, this survivor is today a genuine museum piece, virtually impossible to find on the market.
