Launched in the mid-1990s, BMW introduced the BMW Z3.
Success came immediately, and its appearance in the James Bond film series (in the Goldeneye film) certainly had something to do with it.
Approximately 300, 000 BMW Z3 coupes and roadsters were produced (in the USA, the first BMW model to be manufactured there) in various engine options: 1. 8L, 1. 9L, 2. 0L, 2. 2L, 2. 5L (American market), 2. 8L, 3. 0L and finally 3. 2L, the famous M versions from 1996 (and 1997 for the coupe versions).
NYC's/ OXOTO is offering for sale this superb example of a BMW Z3 1. 9L in blue (Topasblau) with black and blue leather interior, currently totalling less than 104, 000 km. Delivered new in the Netherlands in June 2001, it became Belgian in January 2014 when it had 76, 378 km on the clock.
Its current owner, also Belgian, has owned it since June 2018 (96, 538 km) and has decided to sell it following the purchase of another car in his collection.
Regarding the bodywork, although it is in original paint (see photos with our tester), we can only note 2 very minor defects (very slight impact) and a small dent on the bonnet. The previous owner had decided not to have the bonnet repainted to preserve a car in original paint throughout, so he applied a nice Z3 sticker on the bonnet, which is in good taste and a good aesthetic idea. We should still point out that it is really in excellent overall condition as can be seen in the presentation photos.
The soft top, as well as the hard top (hard top support included) are also in very good condition.
The interior is equally excellent, whether it's the seats, dashboard, centre console, door panels, carpets, everything looks really superb. You can immediately see that this is a BMW Z3 that has always been perfectly preserved. You really get the impression of having a brand new Z3 in front of you!
Regarding the mechanics, we have several invoices for recent work since 2014 (see on our website). We were able to drive 100 km to bring it to our premises and we can only confirm its excellent road behaviour. And all things considered, this 1. 9L four-cylinder is quite spirited and very pleasant to use.
Thanks to the Car Pass history, but also to the Tellerrapport (Dutch equivalent), we have confirmation of the authenticity of the mileage which has always been linear, which is ideal for the mechanics.
We also have three sets of original keys, the soft top cover, the wind deflector, the protective cover for the rear soft top window (rare) and a COC for possible export.
This is really a very sound BMW Z3 roadster, ready to hit the road without worry. A very nice BMW cabriolet!
