Following in the footsteps of the already legendary SLS, the AMG GT is the second sports car developed entirely in-house by Mercedes AMG.
Launched in September 2014, it initially comes in GT 472 bhp and GTS 510 bhp versions. Although featuring a very different mechanical architecture (twin-turbo V8 in mid-front position), its objective is to rival the Porsche 911 in the ultra-sports coupé segment.
It was in 2018 that the GT R version was unveiled: far more accomplished from a sporting perspective, boasting 585 bhp, a sharper chassis and rear-wheel steering, giving it a precision and agility never before achieved on a production Mercedes.
Re-styled in late 2018 with new lights and digital instrumentation, the AMG GT range was crowned for the occasion with a special limited edition of 750 units: the AMG GTR PRO. The amount of carbon fibre used for this version far exceeds the GTR: the roof, seat shells, anti-roll bars and aerodynamic diffusers are manufactured from this highly resistant material which considerably reduces weight. The suspension can be adjusted for stiffness and ride height, whilst the brakes are carbon-ceramic as standard.
Developed in the "green hell" of the Nürburgring, the GTR PRO displays the origins of its genesis through racing stripes in the same matte green as the famous circuit, running along its lower body panels and bonnet.
It is this extremely rare version that we are offering you today: delivered new in December 2019 by the brand's distributor in Limoges, it has had only one owner and presents itself today in a condition STRICTLY IDENTICAL to the day of delivery. Ideally stored in a heated garage, under cover (supplied) and with a battery tender, it is nevertheless taken out regularly for around thirty kilometres and returned to its protected sanctuary after being meticulously cleaned.
Its owner had equipped it with numerous options (order form present) including the exterior carbon pack. He was, however, somewhat disappointed upon delivery by the fins overhanging the front wings, which were simply made of plastic. He therefore entrusted Mansory (renowned for their hyper-car preparations) with the task of remaking them entirely in carbon. The result is simply perfect (Mansory invoice present).
With 1, 250 kilometres on the clock, Mercedes servicing up to date, and in a condition where it could proudly feature in the brand's museum in Stuttgart, one can assert that this is the finest AMG GTR PRO available in Europe and certainly in the world.
It is destined for an ultra-demanding enthusiast of a model that, whilst recent, is already a collector's piece.
