Developed by Porsche Motorsport as a road-legal homologated model, it brought genuine competition technologies to the road, notably the legendary 3. 6-litre flat-six Mezger engine, derived from the Le Mans-winning Porsche 911 GT1. Only 1, 868 examples were produced for the "Rest of World" markets between 1999 and 2001, making the 996. 1 GT3 one of the most significant and sought-after modern Porsches from the Motorsport era. This 996. 1 GT3 This left-hand drive 996 GT3 in Comfort specification was delivered new on 3 May 2001 by Porsche Stuttgart to a Swiss customer as part of the Tourist Delivery Service (Werksabholung). The car was used sparingly for several years before moving to the United Kingdom, where it was acquired in 2016 by its current Belgian owner. When sold in 2016, the car had covered only 11, 606 kilometres. Since then, only approximately 1, 400 additional kilometres have been covered, bringing the current mileage to just 13, 000 km from new. This exceptionally limited use throughout its life is reflected in the remarkable condition in which the car has been preserved. Presented in Arctic Silver Metallic with a black leather interior, the car retains its original appearance. The paint is entirely original, with the sole exception of the front bumper, which was repainted by a previous owner. The original paint retains remarkable depth and lustre, whilst the overall condition perfectly matches a vehicle displaying such exceptionally low mileage. The original specification is particularly appealing, combining the sporting character of the GT3 with the more comfortable equipment of the Comfort version. This notably includes a carbon centre console and instrument surround trim, electrically adjustable Sport seats, air conditioning, a Becker CD radio, and a leather-trimmed dashboard and door panels. The black leather interior is in exceptional condition. The seats, dashboard, carpets and various trim elements show very little sign of use, confirming the car's light usage throughout its life. The air conditioning and Becker radio/ CD system function perfectly. The car is accompanied by its original service booklet and original documentation, including the user manuals, original GT3 sales brochure, two keys, a protective cover and a battery charger-maintainer. Given the exceptionally low mileage, the service booklet naturally does not feature a large number of stamps, but the car has been properly maintained and has just successfully passed its MOT. The condition of the car is particularly impressive given its mileage. The Arctic Silver paint, wheels, interior and various mechanical components have all been remarkably preserved, whilst the car retains the character and specification of a very largely original early GT3. 996. 1 GT3s displaying very low mileage are extremely rare, and examples combining just 13, 000 km, largely original paint, documented provenance and complete documentation are particularly difficult to find. Furthermore, this is a late-production Mk. 1, already benefiting from several technical improvements that appeared on later-produced cars, notably the electrically operated front bonnet and engine cover, Alcantara headlining and improvements to cooling and several other technical evolutions.
