Introduction
This unique Hotchkiss Anjou 1350 was customised by coachbuilder Henri Chapron as part of an exploration into new market opportunities for the model. Several one-off versions of certain Hotchkiss models (Grégoire, …) were created in this manner, remarkable for their treatment of the grille in most cases, and the rear section in an almost systematic fashion.
This example was sold to Philippe Berlin in 1951 by Buffard's establishment in Paris.
The interior is particularly well appointed, in beige cloth with brown piping. The handsome dashboard is complete. The car has benefited from a comprehensive restoration, thoroughly deserved given the unique character of this creation which combines the craftsmanship of the Levallois coachbuilder with the ingenuity of the Hotchkiss firm.
An article in the magazine 'Le fanatique de l'automobile' (no. 159, December 1981) specifically describes this Hotchkiss and mentions its passage through Chapron's workshops. An original copy of this magazine is available with the car.

• Original colour faithfully reconstructed following spectral colourimeter analysis of elements still present in the vehicle

• Wooden chassis frame beneath the bodywork entirely rebuilt (process photos)
• Electrical system completely renewed (wiring + addition of power relays concealed behind the dashboard to prevent high current passing through the stalks and switches)
• Directional arrows operationally and luminously functional but easily disconnectable for preservation, whilst maintaining conventional front/ rear indicators in working order
• Engine and water radiator rebuilt
• Brakes rebuilt (new wheel cylinders, new master cylinder, drums reground, …)
• Chrome re-plated
• New fuel pump with electronic regulation
• New clutch
• LED headlight bulbs with warm colour temperature but with the option to change them for conventional filament bulbs (standard Marchal socket)
Car passed MOT and registered as a historic vehicle in May 2026.
