Description
Reluctantly, I'm parting with my 1978 VW Kombi T2B (owned for 5 years).
This is an original Camper Bay Window equipped with the large Westfalia "pop top" roof with forward-opening tent. The canvas and mosquito screens are functional and in good working order.
Two-tone, Dakota beige and Alpine Weiss roof
This Kombi left the factory in October 1978 and was exported to the USA in California.
It returned to mainland Europe in the 2010s to England where it was restored.
Its original Berlin-style interior layout is also in excellent condition. All elements and accessories are present and perfectly operational.
The overall bodywork condition is good; this vehicle benefited from a full respray in 2012 and some touch-ups this year.
The platform (chassis) is sound and free from corrosion.
All 4 tyres are new
The electrical system as a whole (starter, alternator, regulator, charging circuit, 2 x 12v batteries including one leisure battery, windscreen wipers, headlights, battery isolator, 12v-220v transformer for fridge, etc.) shows no notable faults to date.
Mechanically, the 2000cc Type 4 engine has been regularly serviced and has benefited from complete and thorough maintenance carried out by specialists (filters, belt, ignition, spark plugs, carburettor, accessible seals). The engine doesn't overheat and doesn't consume oil abnormally.
The gearbox (serviced) works perfectly, gears engage without difficulty, no noise, vibration, juddering or malfunction. The clutch shows no signs of wear.
Mileage is not guaranteed (5-digit odometer in miles, in working order).
The vehicle is driven regularly with current MOT and sleeps safely in the family home garage.
The "classic car" registration document is in my name.
The price is justified and fair, and the vehicle can be viewed in PACA at Arles (13).
Curious enthusiasts welcome... if you don't mind.
