Description
Morris Ten-Four Saloon 1934
Brand History
Morris Motor Company has a long and interesting history. The marque achieved success thanks to William Richard Morris. He originally started out in bicycle manufacturing before turning his attention to the motor industry.
The first Morris motor car was produced in 1913. The Cowley factory, near Oxford, eventually became the heart of the enterprise.
During the 1910s and 1920s, Morris notably produced the Oxford and Cowley models. These models contributed greatly to the company's growth.
The Morris Ten-Four was introduced in 1932. The name "Ten-Four" refers to its fiscal horsepower rating of 10 bhp and its four-cylinder engine.
In reality, the engine developed 27 bhp, but the fiscal rating of 10 bhp was more advantageous from a tax perspective.
