The Fiat 126 is one of those small cars whose charm far exceeds its size. With its angular lines, compact proportions and instantly recognisable appearance, it embodies a simple and endearing approach to car design.
The example we are presenting today was first registered on 17 November 1977. Manufactured in Italy, this Fiat 126 has a classic car registration certificate and has clocked up 61, 500 km. This lovely Fiat has had three previous owners, and its current owner has owned it since April 2019.
Since being purchased, it has covered approximately 10, 500 km; it was used as a holiday car, with the owner towing it behind his motorhome. Furthermore, it has undergone extensive mechanical work, with numerous documented repairs. The owner had a full mechanical restoration carried out to ensure the car remains a pleasure to drive.
The invoices show, in particular, that the engine was removed, its seals were replaced along with numerous gaskets, the crankshaft bearing on the gearbox side was replaced, and the rocker arms were adjusted. The clutch kit has also been replaced, whilst the gearbox and its control system have undergone several services focusing on seals, bellows and connecting components.
The ignition, carburettor and starting system have also been serviced, including the replacement of the spark plugs, work on the ignition capacitor, as well as invoices relating to a standard replacement carburettor and starter motor.
Maintenance has also been carried out on the running gear. The steering and front suspension have benefited from work on the steering rack, ball joints and pivots. Work on the braking system, rear bearings and a driveshaft flex joint completes this report. These costs collectively demonstrate the owner’s investment over the years.
Aesthetically, its white bodywork combined with a black interior gives it a understated look, true to the spirit of the model. Its fabric sunroof adds an extra touch of charm and allows you to enjoy drives to the full on fine days.
