The A presents the Austin Healey 3000 MK III 6-cylinder
Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III — The expression of the great British roadster
With its long bonnet, taut lines and wood-trimmed cabin, the Austin-Healey 3000 Mk III combines the qualities that built the reputation of great British sports cars: an elegant silhouette, expressive mechanicals and a drive that fully engages its driver.
The latest evolution of the "Big Healey" line, the Mk III represents its most accomplished version.
Its 2, 912 cc straight-six, producing around 150 horsepower, pairs a deep, rich note with generous acceleration. Mounted at the front and driving the rear wheels, it gives this car a bold character, where torque and sensation take centre stage.
The Mk III also brings added refinement, with a wooden dashboard and drop-down side windows. It nevertheless retains the direct connection with the mechanicals that is its main appeal: a meaty steering feel, a distinctive driving position and the pleasure of mastering a genuine car with character.
The story of the 3000 is also that of a sports car whose reputation was built in competition, notably in rallying. This heritage accompanies every journey without diminishing its suitability for long tours and open-air touring.
The example presented by The A
Owned by the same keeper for 35 years, this Austin-Healey reflects a lasting relationship between an enthusiast and their car. Used on rallies and informal outings, it carries a patina that adds to its charm and to the character of this example.
Its colour combination highlights the elegance of its bodywork and its British identity. Presented in very good running order, with new tyres, it benefits from complete documentation and a substantial history file that allows its journey and preservation to be appreciated.
For The A, the appeal of this Mk III lies as much in its mechanical qualities as in the continuity of its history. A car that has been preserved, driven and appreciated over the decades, offering today the pleasure of a great British classic of quality.
Substantial file, photographs and video on request.
