The car was delivered new in New York on 10 October 1955 to a lady. It was delivered by HOFFMAN, who was the Porsche and Mercedes importer in New York at the time. An Italian gentleman, Nelson Antonioli, an engineer at Fiat, then engineer and chief at Dallara, invented a metal spray treatment process. Following this invention he became very wealthy and therefore owned factories in the United States. His company is called Bio Innovation. During a trip to New York he fell in love with this Mercedes and bought it for his wife directly from the lady. (The former owner has since found the name and address of the lady, who has apparently since passed away.) Following the purchase of this vehicle, Mr Antonioli decided to hire five or six mechanics to restore the car. They therefore restored the vehicle from A to Z. The engine was instead sent to Mercedes Classic. The bodywork was redone at Mr Antonioli's request, using only original parts!!!!!! For example, having the original sun visors is very, very rare. During a trip to Padua in Italy, the former owner bought the car directly from Mr Antonioli about 14 years ago. During the restoration, Mr Antonioli wished to keep all the original parts of the vehicle, so almost everything on the car is from 1955. Another important point: it retains its 1955 Cardex, which certifies the vehicle's serial number, something that is very difficult to obtain for cars from that period. Full history, only 4 owners.
