Introduced in 1962 to succeed the MG A, the MG B quickly became one of the most iconic British roadsters of its era. Built at the MG factory in Abingdon, England, it stands out for its elegant lines, long bonnet and simple, robust mechanics. Powered by a 1. 8-litre four-cylinder engine, it prioritises driving pleasure and open-air sensations. Production ended in 1980, after eighteen years of success.
Today we present an October 1977 MG B Roadster. This example stands out with its bright red bodywork, a shade that particularly highlights the characteristic lines of this British roadster. The whole is paired with a black interior and a folding soft top in the same colour, offering an elegant configuration faithful to the spirit of the model.
At the rear, you'll find a chrome luggage rack fitted to the boot lid. A feature much appreciated on British roadsters, it adds an extra touch of charm and recalls their original purpose: enjoying journeys and country lanes with the top down.
The cabin retains the spirit of British sports cars of that era, with a understated layout, a driver-focused instrument panel and a resolutely vintage atmosphere.
Its odometer currently reads 97, 779 miles, or roughly 157, 360 kilometres. The owner has carried out restoration work to care for the car's overall presentation and improve its everyday usability. Details of these works can be clarified during our discussions.
Beyond its history, the MG B is above all a car designed for the pleasure of driving. Its rear-wheel drive, manual gearbox and naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine offer a driving experience typical of British sports cars of that generation.
With its compact proportions and traditional architecture, it is particularly well suited to gentle drives along country lanes, outings with fellow enthusiasts or summer escapades.
