Description
A true icon of the 80s, the Renault 5 is back in the spotlight with the launch of its new electric version. This is the perfect opportunity to offer you an authentic 1982 Renault 5 in base specification (845cc), showing 130, 000 km on the clock.
I bought this car five years ago and it has never let me down. Used almost daily, it has got me through all weathers and all conditions, a testament to its reliability and everyday practicality.
Now, however, I am looking to start a new project and part ways with this charming old friend.
In addition to the routine maintenance carried out regularly (oil changes and filter replacements), several jobs have been completed over the past five years:
- Steering universal joint
- Rocker cover gasket
- Front headlights
- Gearbox
- Idle jet
- Front brake discs and pads
- Rear brake drums
- Exhaust system
- Rear wheel bearings
- Rear shock absorbers
- Alternator
- Battery
The car has a classic vehicle registration document (carte grise collection). Its last MOT dates from February 2022. To get a precise picture of its current condition and identify any work required, I had a voluntary inspection carried out. This highlighted the following points, among others:
- Replacement of all four tyres
- Replacement of one suspension ball joint
- Replacement of a dust cap
- Engine clean: old oil traces from a leak at the rocker cover gasket, which has since been replaced.
The previous owner carried out a full repaint, though not a perfect one. The car has some corrosion around the doors and front wings. That said, it still makes quite an impression.
The car will be sold with a small batch of spare parts, including four additional wheels.
This Renault 5 is a great opportunity to enjoy an iconic car of the 80s, as endearing as it is enjoyable to drive.
I remain, of course, at your disposal for any further information, additional photos, or to arrange a viewing appointment.
