The Appeal

Manufactured to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Alfa Romeo brand, this little Alfa really was an unusual vehicle for its era - featuring a boxy design and advanced technical solutions for the drivetrain, it hit the ground running and was a fantastic success.

This particular 75 is in all original condition, sporting stunning bodywork and paint with exceptional interior to match - it’s quite easy to tell that this little Alfa has been in the ownership of Alifisti for most of its life due to the excessive care and attention which it has received over the years.

A true collectors piece.

Breathtaking. An all original Milano is something we don’t get to see all too often, a rare sight in any condition, so it is beyond a treat to see one so well cared for and complete!

The original fabric front seats present themselves beautifully, the driver seat has some minor signs of wear but no apparent damage like rips or tears throughout, even the bolsters are very well kept - the passenger side seat is in even better condition with very little signs of use.

Directly in front of the driver seat, the original steering wheel is present and in good condition, just some light signs of wear of course due to this being one of the most tactile areas of any vehicle.

Looking past the steering wheel we see a continuation of the boxy design elements on the exterior brought into the cabin, with square gauge clusters as well as square and rectangular control buttons placed throughout. All of the gauges and controls work as you would expect them to, and look absolutely fantastic while doing so!

Located on the centre console we see a small array of lights which show warning symbols with small lights to indicate them, as well as a digital clock - Alfa were well ahead of most manufacturers when it came to experimenting with technical advances, and it really shows in areas like this.

Heater controls all function and look as if they’ve rarely been used, all of the printed colours and symbols appear clear as day here!

Under the arm rest sits the electronically adjustable seat controls as well as the rear window heater - again, more signs of Alfa trying to push the boundaries a little ahead of their competitors.

Rear seats are in fantastic shape, showing no signs of any damage throughout and look as though they’ve hardly been used over the years - which is probably true! All of the stitching remains intact and the floor carpets appear to be in fabulous condition too.

The headlining appears to have some light creasing and sagging in the middle section around the dome, however it looks to be pretty tight and well finished everywhere else!

This Alfa is an absolutely fantastic example, seeing originality in this kind of condition in any classic car is enough to get your mouth watering, especially with rare and obscure models of Italian engineering such as this.

The Exterior

  • Original paintwork
  • Metallic Blue 371 paint
  • Original body panels
  • Factory fitment panel gaps
  • Brightwork all in fantastic condition
  • No damage, corrosion or rust apparent
  • Original wheels shod in new tyres
  • Original badge designations in place
  • Iconic boxy wedge design

Unusual, maybe, but excellent it is undoubtedly.

The Milano was an unusual design for the era, but its a design that Alfa Romeo took and ran with, bringing design elements from the boxy body shape into the interior to really make it look coherent - and what a fantastic job they done of it, too.

At the front of the vehicle, the car appears to be in fantastic condition.

Paintwork is excellent, the grill is intact with beautiful chrome brightwork on the famous Alfa triangle, and the headlights look to be in amazing shape too with no cracks or damage apparent on them - this goes for the indicator lights, reflectors and the fog lights too.

It truly is quite difficult to believe that this little Milano is untouched!

Moving around to the side of the vehicle, the same story remains, bodywork looks to be in fantastic shape, paintwork is beautifully maintained and all of the body panels are original and straight with no signs of any rust or corrosion anywhere - probably thanks to its lifetime in dry climate countries.

The original wheels are in place and appear to be in stunning condition on all four corners, and are all shod in brand new Firestone tyres.

To the rear of the car, the story repeats itself. Fantastic paintwork, straight and true original panels, and even the plastic moulding appear to be very wonderfully presented. The tail lights are in great shape also, retaining great colour and clarity with no damage or fading.

If we were to nitpick - which we really are with this - is that there is a very small scuff on the rear bumper on the drivers side, on the dark grey part just below the tail light. It’s difficult to see without being right up close and personal though.

This Alfa is a sight to behold, all original and in absolutely stunning condition inside and out.

To even be in the presence of such a car gives you goosebumps - imagine what it would be like to own it.

The Mechanics

  • 2.5L V6 engine
  • Rear wheel-drive configuration
  • 5 speed manual transmission
  • Mechanically well maintained
  • Recent light recommissioning
  • Exceptional engine bay condition - small cam sprocket cover missing from the right side is all we can find to pick at

Like any Alfa of this era, this really is a very driver focused car, a big engine and a manual transmission makes for a fantastic driving experience.

This particular example sports the sought after 2.5L engine producing a stout 156bhp and 152 lb-ft of torque, and making a fantastic noise while doing so.

The car has recently had some light recommissioning work carried out which included replacing the timing belt, replacing the spark plugs and cables, as well as carrying out a complete oil and filter service.

The seller states that the pads will also be changed before delivery should it be required.

This is a fantastic runner - a real turn key car that produces no unwelcome knocks or bangs from anywhere while driving thanks to it being meticulously maintained by its previous owners throughout the years.

The vehicle will have a full inspection done as peace of mind for any new custodian.

An exceptionally well maintained, and very rare collectors item such as this is like gold dust.

Completely original and utterly worthy of anyone's collection, and if the moment calls for it, it's ripe and ready to hit the roads too.

This is a car that many didn’t even know existed, and it will seem to remain that way while the prices of these sought after pieces of history continue to climb.

Don’t miss out on this one, it’s just far, far too good.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.
Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

C&C prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.
Auctions are extended by 3-minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £10,000 £100.00
£10,000 to £50,000 £250.00
£50,000 to £100,000 £500.00
£100,000+ £1000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.
You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

What are Commission bids?

A commission bid means you’re able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
