Description
The DKW RT200 is a rare 2 stroke vintage motorbike, which I personally sourced in Germany and brought to the UK. It was manufactured by DKW who became part of Auto Union and later evolving into Audi. It is a beautiful bike with exceptional build quality as you would expect. It was fully rebuilt in Germany and has a thick history file to go with it (helpful if you can speak German). It was purchased approx 40 miles from Ingolstadt where these bikes were made. It is in excellent condition but not concourse, some age related 'patina' is present. I have used it for weekend rides and found it very reliable and easy to live with. I have serviced it and added a 12v electronic ignition system to prevent any gremlins. This was the advanced 2 stroke engine (for it's time) made famous by the Allies taking the blueprints and becoming the BSA Bantam engine, Harley Davidson "Hummer" etc. It is both Tax and MOT free due to it's age. There is one issue to point out - the disengage spring on the kick start is playing up, but does not stop it's starting or use. I'm happy to answer any questions, the reason I am selling is due a move overseas.
