1963 MORRIS MINI COOPER S 1275 MKI SALOON (concours condition)
Stunningly finished in period colours of old English white with black roof, red and cream seats with matching door cards and red carpets.
This car has had a ground up restoration by Mini Specialist Minispeed of Byfleet Surrey starting early in 2008 and finishing late 2009. The total restoration costs were an amazing £40, 000 supported by the invoice in the history folder. During the restoration a conversion was made from the original Mini Super Deluxe Saloon to a fully blown 1380cc Mini Cooper S (1275) Recreation and fitted with a Supercharger, fully tuned race spec engine, plus gearbox, stage 3 suspension, 5” KAD vented brakes, braided brake lines and pipes, MKIII remote brake servo, white roll cage front and rear with door guards, chrome wiper kit, magnolia gauges, mini speed 6x10” split rims with AO32r tyres, alloy rad, oil cooler, electronic ignition, Monte Carlo accelerator pedal, halogen headlights, 130 mph speedo in magnolia, rev counter, low boost super charger, gas shock absorbers, silicone hoses, concept 36 engine 1380cc with forged pistons, ultralight flywheel and backplate, s/ c remote gearbox, 1275 power unit bored out to 1380cc, x-drilled billet camshaft and pot jointed driveshafts plus the car was rebadged from Morris to Austin Cooper S. The car has covered only a few miles since the completion of the restoration.
The history folder includes current and previous V5s and MoTs, MoT related paperwork, original buff coloured registration document, invoices totalling circa £44000, old road fund licences, DVLA paperwork, dyno systems testing info from AT speed racing, bhp report, Mini club info, running in info, Mini sport parts manual and SU Carburettor info, original bill of sale, Drivers Handbook, BMC approved accessory booklet and a photographic record of the restoration. An early MK1 63 Mini Cooper S 1275 Saloon in concours condition (as this car is) would cost today in excess of £75000. This car is a stage higher than a standard original Mini Cooper S and all parts on the car are correct to a MK1 Cooper S! It is a fast road spec car equally at home on the road or racetrack as you wish.
