Beschreibung
Offered For Sale is my 1983 Honda C50 Cub Moped.
As you can see from the photos this remains a lovely low mileage example of this very sought after Moped.
Since production in 1983 and until its conversion in 2015 it had covered just 17, 356 miles with DVLA provided mileage records included.
In 2015 the Cub was subject to a professional upgrade - conversion, with the additional of a 160cc OO Racing pattern Pit Bike Engine, mated to a 4 up 4 speed gearbox, handlebar controlled clutch, race exhaust, race carburettor and sports filter along with other upgrade parts to ensure the moped handles suitable on the road with the improved performance.
The 160cc engine and suitable gearing see's this comfortable achieve 70mph with great handling as roads and conditions allow. More importantly for me it enables him to keep up with modern traffic.
In addition to the cost of the original purchase of the moped the previous owner purchased all of the conversion parts new, with receipts for parts and labour from 2015 included and totalling £973. 24. Further to this and after just 380 miles is an additional receipt for £148. 00 when it was serviced and new wider Continental tyres added.
V5 states 50cc so the new keeper would need to amend this if required.
As a pattern engine the frame remains original without modification so he could be returned to factory spec if you have original components (not included in this sale or available from myself).
The mileage has increased very little in my own ownership and as much as I love walking into my office and looking at it through the day he deserves to be used and is therefore offered For Sale.
Prior to its recent MOT a new branded replacement double seat was added, replacement rear indicators and fuel flushed and replaced.
Since being stored over winter and with limited use I believe the moped would benefit from the carburettor setting up. It starts and runs (video available) with the choke but cuts out once the choke is returned. I haven't investigated this any further so am only able to suggest that setting this up would cure it but with new carbs available from £30. 00 if necessary this would also provide a cost effective approach to resolving any possible issue.
