Description
The Allard JR is an extremely rare lightweight British sports that was powered by a Cadillac V8 and raced at Le Mans. Only 7 cars were ever were manufactured, between 1953 and 1956, and their astonishing pace made them a thrilling car to drive.
Allard are now manufacturing a limited series of continuation JRs to FIA specification based on the car which was built for Colonel Schilling USAF and raced at Le Mans by Sydney Allard, before it was exported to the USA where Schilling competed in sports car races.
All cars are built to the period correct specifications necessary to obtain HTP documentation, allowing them to compete in a wide range of prestigious national and international historic races. The cars comply with current IVA regulations, enabling them to be driven on public roads
Allard have a remarkable continuous racing history going back 89 years to when Syndey Allard competed in his first race. Success at Le Mans, wins in the Monte Carlo rally and numerous hillclimb and circuit races established Allard as a force to be reckoned with. They also introduced drag racing to Europe and were so successful that Alan Allard, the son of the founder Sydney, became known as ‘The fastest man in the World.’
Alan continues to be a guiding force within Allard Sports Cars Ltd and has personally overseen the production of the JR Continuation. Each car takes up to 6 months to build and the first have already been taken, so availability is extremely limited. Very few reproduced historic competition cars have such a unique and close authenticity with the original cars and their historic pedigree.
Allard are also fortunate to have the support of the Allard Owners Club worldwide, the Allard Register in the USA and the original engineers who designed and built many of the original Allards.
Chassis numbers are issued directly from the archives held by Allard Sports Cars Ltd and these are the only official Allard sports cars currently in production.
