I want to sell my Fastback, first registration 01. 10. 1968, mainly because of my age and also that I am too accustomed with my Rover 75 Connoisseur. Honestly said, I have become afraid to use the Rapier without all the modern comfort.
I bought it in November 2013 in the Newton Steward. My wife and I drove it up to the Isle of Arran in Scotland during about a week, using the time to visit a few things on the way up and get accustomed again to a Fastback (I had one in the early 1970ies for about 6 years).
The car was the first years outside, covered with a professional hood and the use was perhaps 2, 3 times a week of about 40 miles each, with some drives on the mainland, accumulating all in all probably about 5'000 Miles or so.
I have not used it for over two years, it was kept the last one and a half year in a Garage.
Now to the car: After I got it I realised quite soon that a respray is needed. Which was done by a numpty in Ardrossan. As you can see on the pics the rust came back after about 18 month later. I then made the decision to sell it. Previous I have bough new wheels (see pics).
The general view is, it should get a new, thorough respray, after repairing the two body faults on the rear.
Engine: The car is moted until early January and run perfect the last time used (about an year ago).
Interior: with the exception at the left front the car is dry, even in heavy rain. We, the mechanic and I have not located the source of water into the cabin. Everything else is not pristine but acceptable. I had a modern Radio installed.
As far as I know, the electricity works.
