1959 BUICK LE SABRE - LIGHT PROJECT
Just arrived with us this week is the amazing 1959 American classic Buick Le Sabre.
An extremely rare vehicle with currently none for sale in the UK.
The engine runs and does sound very well indeed (I have a video of me running the car yesterday although the car has new fuel pumps there appears to be an issue with these (or the fuel lines) as you need to feed the fuel in directly.
I have had a quick look underneath and the chassis is in very good order save for two small patches that will be required on either sill.
The body is incredibly straight with no dents or bad filler work to any of the panels. It has has a coat of matt black paint a few years back - this isn’t personally to my taste and it wants a nice fresh coat of paint in a lovely candy apple hue of some description I think. Most of the chrome and aluminium trim is in good condition but the front bumper is quite badly pitted.
The interior trim as a whole is in good condition but the carpet is quite a cheap item and I would replace with a more quality one.
The brakes require attention - because it doesn’t have any!!! There are how ever some replacement drums in the boot along with a few other spares.
I bought this car in the condition that you see before you but a number of winter projects are already started meaning this will just sit now until the spring.
This will make a very rewarding project for someone as it has real presence and is a wonderful looking car.
