Morris Mini Minor, Mk1, RHD, 850 - project for restoration.
Early model with external door hinges and sliding windows. Rear side windows open and the frames still look new.
Originally assembled by Morris Motors Ltd, Cowley, Oxford , England.
Found in a dry inland part of Eastern Cape, South Africa. It was first registered in 1965, it is currently deregistered.
Very solid body, including floors & sills. Minor dents have all been removed, surface rust has been treated & eliminated where applicable.
A few parts are missing ie grille, whisker mouldings, exterior emblems, taillight lenses, hub caps, inner door handles, steering wheel, front seats & bonnet stay. Front bumper needs replacement.
The original manufacturers tags & engine number tag are all in place.
The engine bay is complete, very original and unrestored, as found. The engine has not run for a number of years and still turns over easily. Original aircleaner & carburettor.
Tyres are all brand new.
The glass & window rubber seals are all still good and still installed.
Original exterior colour was light grey and original interior was red & white/ light grey.
The body passes the fridge magnet test. The roof gutters are straight and rust free.
The original rear seats are still there, as are the original door cards and rear cards. Headlining needs replacement.
