Project for restoration.
1972 Capri 3 Litre XLR Auto, (Mk1 Capri) originally assembled at Ford Neave plant in Port Elizabeth, SA.
Last driven approx 20 years ago before it was taken off the road for a restoration which was hardly started.
This is a matching numbers car, with original factory tags. Original colour from the factory was Pearl Grey (metallic) with black interior.
Factory re-inforced shocktowers and engine bay rear gussets were standard on the 3 Litre versions in SA.
The body is mostly straight, solid and free of serious rust. There are some surface rust spots on the exterior mainly the left front fender and a few places on the drivers side floor that will need patch repair. The doors are still very good and open / close well.
It has the original high back seats and rear opening quarter windows. The original door cards are still good. Original headlining needs replacement, sunvisors are still good.
Engine will need rebuild. Carburettor is missing. The car is mostly complete with a some minor items missing.
