Classic Mercedes T1 208d Motorhome coach built by Autotrail available End of April beginning of May 2019 as thats when the MOT is due . It will be sold with a new MOT.. Also just ordered are some nice new curtains for it which are due to arrive on or about the 20th march.
If it is purchased before that date the new curtains will be posted on to the new owner

This is probably the most reliable model ever made,
It has the Mercedes OM601 engine which is pretty much Bomb Proof
Here are a few interesting details
The camshaft and fuel injection pump are driven by a duplex chain from the crankshaft. ( No cam belt )
A separate single row chain drives the oil pump from the crankshaft.
Fuel supply is indirect injection via a pre-chamber arrangement.
The OM-601's injection pump is a mechanical fuel injection unit with a 5, 150 RPM (+ or - 50 RPM) mechanical governor, automatic altitude compensation, and a 'load sensing' automatic idle speed control. The pump is lubricated by a connection to the engine oil circulation.
( Simple and effective no fuel rail or electronic injectors to go wrong )
Just to make it clear Hymer are rated the best in the trade for Motorhomes, Autotrail come a close Second.
So this Classic Mercedes Autotrail is a cut above your average TALBOT EXPRESS, CITROEN, FIAT or PEUGEOT of the same era!
If you fancy dipping your toes into the world of motor homes without spending 10's of thousands of pounds then this Mercedes T1 208D Autotrail might be just the thing for you.
These older vans age great fun, you can fettle about with them without worrying too much about how it all works,
No computer needed to program your spare key. lol !
Unlike today's modern electronic filled vehicles, these are very simple, and when you turn up somewhere in it, be it on a campsite or in Asda car park it will attract attention where ever you go
So if you fancy a slower way of life with something that little bit different you might just have found it.
Oh, and depreciation will be virtually Nil, and here's another bonus....... No Cambelt to worry about!
Based on a Mercedes Chassis which has only covered 47, 000 MIles this 2 berth motorhome is lovely and compact but still feels fairly spacious for its size.
Length 17ft 6" height 8ft 6" width 6ft 6"
The layout is a rear kitchen with oven, grill and a hob above, 3 way fridge which operates on gas, 12v or 240v.
There is a period sink and drainer to the rear of the van
The rear corner washroom has a sink, toilet and shower.
The Front lounge has a removable Centre Table and side sofa are fitted with lap belts.
For sleeping the side sofa turns into a double bed, or you can simply use each side of the van and have two single beds
There is also an over the cab area which can be used for storage space.
Hot water is via a Moorco hot water heater which operates on gas, Just turn the hot tap on and the boiler will fire up once you have lit the pilot light.
Heating is by way of a Heatsource H2000 heater which runs on gas.
This motorhome is ready to go travelling, you just need some cutlery, plates, cooking equipment, there is a bike rack on the back so you can take your mountain bikes with you.
This Mercedes motorhome has many original fittings and features, as well as a few upgrades but been very well maintained and looked after... You only have to see it to realise that.
It is very low mileage for it's age with full MOT records checkable on line covering 1500 to 1600 miles a year, and some years not even that. So thats probably a 2 week holiday twice a year.
Non smoking, nil pet damage. Has all manuals, guides etc included. To be sold with all her sundry items such as steadies, waste water canisters, leisure battery etc.
The Merc T1 208D has a very good reputation although somewhat slower than today's modern Vehicles, so don't expect a flying machine, there is No turbo, No electronics - Just German perfection.
The engine is simple with a mechanical fuel injection pump but on the whole if well maintained it's a reliable go anywhere motor and if you can do your own servicing an oil filter is only £8 and an air filter £20, Engine Oil £15 for 5 Ltrs..
That's under £40 and certainly beats what the dealers will charge you on your 60 or 80K modern Motorhomes.
You have probably heard people say that these old Mercedes although reliable as the day is long were heavy on the steering as they had no power steering
Well
No worries with this Motorhome
It Has Power Steering!
So that has saved spending over a grand on the conversion.
These don't turn up very often especially in good working order, most of them have been modified, fixed beds fitted and the like, or the ones that are still intact the owners rarely sell them.
So as they say today!!!!
