Genuine 1990 Mini 30, owned and driven by me for the past 2 years. Only two previous owners before me - original owner for 18 months and then 2nd owner for 25 years.
‘Merlot’ (he not she) is almost completely original both body and engine. No interior changes/ performance mods/ cooper stripes etc he is as standard as he came out the factory so you know exactly what you’re getting. Prior to my ownership a light engine rebuild took place in 2015 including carb refurb, new alternator, distributor and radiator. The car looks stunning and is ready for show season. He’s only driven at weekends during good weather and stored in a heated garaged over winter. I get waves and admiring thumbs up almost every time I’m driving him. He’s MOT’d until end Oct 2019 and has done a genuine 54, 000 miles backed up by MOT certificates. I’m only selling due to downsizing to one new car that I can use all year round. I will undoubtable miss him.
I am no mechanic so since purchasing in Feb 2017 most of the following has been done by local Mini Specialists, ‘Icon Restorations’ and ‘Southside Mini Centre’ with receipts to prove. Most parts have come from - details above and no expense has been spared.

Underside rust prevention – at least twice Southside Mini Centre have commented on how good the underside is. Merlot is solid in the usual rust traps: skuttle panel, boot floor, sills, sub frames etc. The cherry red paint looks great and being a 1990 has better servo assisted 8. 4” disk brakes but still a tuneable SU carb (easier for MOT emission testing than later SPi & MPi with an ECU). Merlot wants for nothing and is probably a good long term investment. Worth every penny of £4795. For any further info/ photos or to view drop me a message.
