For sale is my 1979 Honda XL 125 S. Originally a French bike it was brought into the UK a couple of years ago and had been sitting in my friend’s garage. Last summer I sorted out the Nova form and registered it at DVLA and an age related plate was allocated. It has a current MOT certificate that expires on 10th August 2019. There was one advisory, rear wheel bearing has slight play. This is a very easy job and the part is inexpensive, I was going to do it over the winter but just didn’t get around to it. The bike runs perfectly and everything now works as it should, even all of the electrics and the horn! I put a new battery on when I had it MOT’d. It kicks over very easily and idles lovely. I would say that the bike looks very original. I had to replace a couple of very minor bits; bulbs, bolts and nuts that I got from David Silver Spares and a couple of indicator lenses and a rear footrest that I bought on eBay. I have also swapped the clocks for MPH instead of KMH so the mileage isn’t accurate. The paint is completely unmolested and is beginning to show it’s 40 years but I think it looks great. If you were that way inclined it could look fantastic. The tyres are in good shape, Metzelers with very much a road bias but perfectly serviceable for a bit of green laning. There is a dent in the tank that I haven’t successfully captured on camera and the cap on the “toolbox” has come off. I still have it but the “hinge” is broken. Also, the strap that holds the cap is missing. Very minor stuff I know but thought it worth noting. There is an aftermarket rack that looks as though it has been on there a very long time. It suits the bike in my opinion, I can imagine some cool 80’s French teenager wafting around Cannes with his partner gripping on!I am not using it enough and it is a crime to see it sit in my garage. That said, I am not desperate to get rid so if it doesn’t go then that is fine with me too. These are becoming increasingly rare and should never lose it’s value. I have set what I consider to be a sensible starting price and reserve. Any questions, please ask.
