My Ferrari Daytona Spyder.
I spent 5 years having the car restored. It had a nut and bolt restoration at a cost of over £200, 000. I have travelled around 4000 miles since the restoration. I have owned the car for over 10 years.
The car was one of the rare 158 UK RHD coupes and was converted into a Spyder in the 80’s by EG AutoKraft . It has now been correctly restored to full UK Spyder specification by Mike Osgood. He worked for Ferrari UK for over 20 years and was their restoration manager.
I have been fortunate, to be invited to display my car at every one of the Ferrari Owners Club Concours since 2013. My car was also one of only a handful of cars chosen to represent the Ferrari Owners Club on their stand at the Classic Car Show NEC 2017, to celebrate the 70th anniversary of Ferrari and the 50th of the club, I have also shown my car at many more events. Such was the quality of the restoration. I was also the Chief Class Concours judge for the Ferrari Owners club in 2018 in the old V12 category, 250's, 275's, 330's, 365's etc .
My car, chassis number 16611 left the factory as blue with blue interior, but I believe it was sold new to the first owner as, Celeste Metallic Blue with Beige or so the final invoice indicates. It has had 6 previous owners, most of note. The car was at one point sold in Monaco in 1988 by Christies for Lord Chichester [ catalogue included] to the last owner who is a motoring, TV and film presenter and ex F1 driver, he had the car for around 20 years, before I bought it 2007.
I have a large history file with all the owners’ details, 4 files of receipts from the rebuild, Ferrari Owner’s club magazines with features I wrote for them on my car, an owners pouch with manuals and tools as shown that came with the car. A memory stick with about 1000 photos of the restoration also comes with the car. The number plate GTS 4C does not come with the car but is negotiable.
This is the most famous/ photographed Daytona Spyder in the UK, with the restoration achieving the highest standard of finish.
