Description
Alfa Romeo Spider Spyder 105 Series 3
It is registered on the 11/ 09/ 1989.
Uk registered reg no G608MKH, and is located in Bulgaria.
RHD Uk converted when new, but i was considering to revert back to LHD... Easy job in current state
I have owned this Spider many years (Mid 2007) and only covered 2500 miles in my trip from buying it to driving to Venice then onto Bulgaria (see last 2 pics)... It has been garaged/ dry stored all these years, and previous owner always had it dry stored and was only used occasionally
Just 98, 911 Kms (59584 miles!)
It has/ had a massive file of paperwork and every thing detailed with invoices old mots etc, reason i say has/ had a massive file is that i have for now after house move mislaid a box of docs... im pretty sure will turn up somewhere in our building, but worst case scenario lets say it cant be found... I do have the V5 in my name
It does need some basic restoration and putting back together, although it drove well across Europe i found out its faults and went on to fix them, and started getting deeper and deeper!... Looked stunning, but lurking under that lovely paintwork there was work to be done.
Ok from memory here goes:
Mechanically:
1st on list was a thudding judder under seat when pulling off, and brakes pulling to one side, so overhauled the brake calipers and fitted new prop shaft rubber mount, also had a bad front bush on starter motor, so that was done also, and there was a spluttering back fire on de-accelerating, found to be perished rubber mounts to twin carbs, i remember 1st carb had some melting to venturi to 1st port due to back fire, basic part to replace, but ran ok otherwise... 2nd gear, think its normal for it to crunch on selection if not eased gently (2 stage), as they do!
Interior:
Seats were splitting as vinyl, and require re-upholstering in leather.... I think carpets were all good and has a wood 'Nardi' signed steering wheel and wood gear knob, has immobiliser fitted.
When rained i discovered leaks to front foot wells and found this was simply because scuttle drain hoses pass through under dash before exiting, both were perished
Soft top:
Mohair soft top from memory was good, but has some broken stitches going across, this can be repaired, rear plastic is good i think (see pic).
Bodywork:
Though looks beautiful from a few meters, had some issues, floor corners to front of inner sill at drain hole is holed easy to fix, and some other points on floor.
A small hole at the top of wing where meets windscreen pillar on drivers side which was treated over 10 years ago and still fine, similar things here and there.
The boot had some rust around wheel well, can be plated up or seamlessly repaired, rear panel below bumper had quite a bit of rust which has been removed to replace as seen in picture.
The windscreen has a vertical crack in middle right thru caused by missing a tiny screw protruding from top when removing (Damn!)
The alloy wheels and tyres were good, and have not gone down in all those years!
Please note it is only available from Pleven north Bulgaria, for more info Email as uk phone not used whilst im here, thanks Paul
