We propose the Autobianchi 500 Giardiniera, the version built by the Autobianchi of the Nuova 500 Giardiniera, whose assembly was transferred to the Desio house starting from 1966. Compared to the original Fiat version, launched in 1960 and corresponding, in terms of layout, to the D version of the 500 sedan, there were no changes. Initially the car even retained the Fiat brand: in fact Autobianchi also assembled a part of the 500 D production on the lines of the Bianchina (which derived from the small 500). In 1968, after the launch of the F-series of the 500, the Giardiniera assumed the Autobianchi brand. In addition to the specifications of the F, excluding the changes to the doors which, unlike the saloon, will always remain "wind-driven" (ie hinged behind), the Giardiniera adopted air intake grilles (those on the rear pillars) black (instead of steel color) and the exterior rear-view mirror. The front frieze was also changed, which became larger, but without the two horizontal whiskers that incorporated the Fiat logo.
