Description
For sale is a 1926 BSA Roundtank requiring full restoration. It is the deluxe model with the Terrys type saddle and a 3 speed gearbox. I have a documented full history, including an old continuation logbook, and a V5 in my name. The Newcastle TN registration is transferable, although I hope that no-one would. I first saw this bike in 1972, when it was owned by a local teacher who had saved quite a few vintage bikes, although never got round to restoring them. It had been used by a local tradesman until the mid-1960, s by which time it was totally worn out. I actually bought it about 12 years ago from the dealer who had purchased all the bikes after the death of the owner. It is largely complete, as shown in the photos, but is missing some levers, the two chain-cases, the rear stand and some smaller fittings etc. I have a complete slightly earlier example of this model and would gladly allow the new owner to make sketches, take measurements etc of the parts that are missing on this one. The magneto is incorrect and probably came off a stationary engine. The carburettor is also incorrect and is likely off a BSA Bantam. The front mudguard is rotten but I have made an accurate replacement which comes with the bike, along with a new set of Parkwood Products stays, as pictured.
