For sale is my 1968 Alfa Romeo 1750 Spider Veloce
The 1750 Spider Veloce is the ultimate iteration of the round tail Spider and with just 494 RHD examples produced, this car is the most sought after of them all. With this one being an original UK delivered car.
South African delivered cars are not manufactured in Italy, but in Alfa Romeo's South African factory.
I'm the fourth owner and have owned this car for close to 10 years. Through my ownership it has been through a body restoration.
It was restored by Classic Ferrari experts Alsa Automotive. Not all restorations are the same. I have 300 photos documenting the 100+hour restoration at a cost of over £20, 000.
The car retains the rare optional hard top, jack stand, spare wheel and tyre and owners manual. The duetto is painted in its original Ivory colour with black interior. It is running on twin webber carburettors which produce a beautiful noise when the revs hit 3, 000 revs.
The duetto is an iconic open top sportscar and featured in many movies such as the Graduate and Vicky Christina Barcelona. This car represents great value compared to the likes of similar open top sports cars of the era such as the Jaguar E-type, Mercedes SL pagoda (This car was priced the same as an E-type at the time). Lastly this was the last car designed by the legendary car designer Battista Pininfarina. He had designed most of the legendary Ferrari's such as the 250 California and 275 GTS. Thus the Alfa Romeo duetto shares some styling cues.
The Alfa Romeo Duetto represents great value for money right now, especially a rare RHD example with the larger 1750 (1. 8L engine).
