For sale in our forthcoming auction in Paris, on 27 october 2019
Italian title
Frame No 610620
Following the SB 200 and SB 350, the DKW NZ 250 and NZ 350 are introduced in 1938. These machines are characterized by a welded metal-sheet frame. The DKW NZ also has a four-speed foot-operated transmission instead of the previous three hand-controlled gears. The look of the 2-stroke engine block with its egg-shaped left crankcase will be the long term foundation for the factory's future productions under the MZ brand. Robust and reliable, the NZ will become the motorcycle of choice for Wehrmacht's reconnaissance units and liaison agents. Over 57, 000 units were produced between 1938 and 1945.
We are very proud to present this very moving collection. All the motorcycles reflect a man's passion for different brands and generations of two-wheelers. The ones that made him dream as a child in the 1940s and 1950s, as well as those he enjoyed riding, such as the BMWs and Guzzis. The original condition and low mileage of most of the motorcycles of the collection will certainly catch the attention of demanding collectors.
We inform buyers that the entire collection consists of motorcycles that were, for the most part, left unused for years in a private museum. They are therefore sold as they are and are to be restored and/ or recommissioned.
We advise all potential buyers to check the file of each motorcycle to obtain all information regarding the registration process in their countries.
