1972 rover 3500 v8
pln 208l was registered in december 1972 and was originally a 3500 automatic.
finished in its original colour of mexico brown this car shows no signs of ever being welded!!! at some time in the past the car was fitted with an engine, gearbox and full exhaust system from the more desirable manual transmission 3500s.
the car is in superb condition inside and out and has sandalwood cloth interior which contrasts the exterior colour brilliantly in my opinion, car drives extremely smoothly with plenty of power from the great sounding, legendary rover v8 engine with excellent oil pressure and cool running, also fitted with an electric fuel pump and electronic ignition for reliability.
car comes with the following extras:
power steering, continental touring kit, lucas front fog lamps, wing mirrors.
currently the car is showing 62400 miles and i have no reason to believe this is not genuine but have no paper work to back this up so judge for yourself…
although the car was originally automatic it has been fitted with all 3500s badges and the more attractive 3500s wheel trims. It also has the 3500s vinyl roof although this was an option on the auto anyway.
everything works as it should and the car has recently passed an mot (not a legal requirement but i don’t like classics without one) with no advisories.
the car is kept in a dry, well lit garage so viewing is no problem whatever the british weather is throwing at us!
was told when i purchased the car that the 1st owner of the car was in the marines and he used the underseal that they use on the car and i have no reason not to believe that as what ever was used it has worked!!
the car also had a service the same time as the mot using ngk spark plugs, fram oil filter and valvoline racing vr1 20w50 oil.
also included in the sale will be buckskin leather flat pleat interior including seats (need work, re colouring and a split in the bottom of passenger front) door cards and also the shin bins. Seats have not "flowered" just look tired.
please don't not hesitate to get in touch regarding more pictures as i have plenty, including the underside and under all wheel arches!!
