1987 RANGE ROVER 2. 4 VM FLEETLINE - RESTORED
Just arrived into stock is this absolutely stunning Range Rover Classic 4 door vm diesel. Finished in resplendent Ascot Green with a cream “Bronze Check” interior , it is a wonderful period looking vehicle that is a testament to the previous owner who rebuilt the whole car himself over the last 12 months.
The fleet line was quick a basic spec vehicle which according to various Land Rover historians were produced in between 1980 to 1984, what makes this car very different is the fact that it was a car that was left in a local dealers unsold for a long period of time due to most buyers at the time favouring vogue/ vogue se trim, it was eventually registered in October 1987. This makes it more than likely the latest registered fleet line diesel in existence.
The previous owner was a true enthusiast who only sold this car to us to part fund the restoration of his suffix a.
It has undergone a full body off restoration, the chassis removed along with the axles and everything rebuilt were necessary including a replacement crossmember. It has also had all the brake and fuel lines replaced as well as the full braking system including all the callipers and new discs . The chassis and underside has also been treated to all new bolts and fixings were possible, new body mounts, bushes and fresh stainless steel front wing stays and fixings.
The body shell was completely stripped and all panels replaced were necessary, the roof removed and painted separately to ensure a quality finish. Replacement panels included new footwells, inner and outer front wings. The inside of all the doors (a usual range rover weak spot) were no different, bad metal was cut out and replaced with fresh steel before being prepared and repainted.
All of the wheels have been correctly painted in the factory finish and tyres replaced also.
I could wax lyrical about all the other various fixtures, nut and bolts that have been changed but I am sure you get the picture! The best thing to do would be to come and take a look for yourselves or request a personal video walk aroud description as we do regularly for international/ distance buyers.
The interior is in excellent original condition all round, no wear/ splits/ tears in the seats. The headlining has been recovered which looks fantastic and all of the door cards professionally recoloured also.
This is a great opportunity to buy a restored, rare vehicle at an unbelieveable price. You could not build a car to this standard for anything like the price we are selling this for.
