First registered new on the 8th of September 2005 by the supplying dealer, “Murry Volvo” of Edinburgh. The current registered elderly lady owner, Mrs Moffat has owned this Volvo 940 since new. Twenty-four years… Seldom driven, with a total of 53565 miles showing on the speedometer. She would average just over 2200 miles per year. Despite the low miles she would ensure that the car was well serviced and maintained. All previous servicing and maintenance has been completed by the supplying dealer from new. Including the original pdi inspection there is a total of seventeen servicing stamps recorded in the manual. A service completed for every 3300 miles driven. This is an exceptionally well-maintained classic Volvo.

A recent service has been completed by my preferred servicing agent. Including a comprehensive vehicle inspection. The car has a current mot which was completed on the 13th of August 2019 a t53432 Miles with no advisories recorded. The current mot is valid until the 25th of May 2020.
A Thorough and Honest Description of my Volvo 960 Saloon.
On the Road: The car starts on the first turn of the key. As soon as you drive off you will realise what a well-constructed car this is. The five-speed manual gearbox is very easy to navigate up and down the box. The clutch has a weighted feel and has an early biting point. The 2. 3 petrol engine is exceptionally smooth with a good turn of power. In true 90s Volvo style, the steering is tight and positive and the suspension and ride is excellent. You know you are driving a large solid car... The brake pads and discs are in excellent condition and every mechanical feature is in perfect working order. My Volvo 940 drives as an exceptionally well maintained twenty-four-year-old, Low miles car should. There are no faults at all. Everything works as it should.
The Boot Compartment: Spotless, clean, dry and very large. The grey carpets are in excellent condition and all the plastic trims and rubber seals are in excellent condition. The spare is a full-size alloy and the tools are all present. The boot compartment really looks like it has seen very little use. The rear seats split and fold flat for additional load space. The boot compartment is illuminated.
The engine compartment: Very presentable. The engine and surrounding interior panels are free from oil and dust. And rust free. A little additional time spent on the engine bay would make it perfect. Still, very nice as it is. Please See My Pictures.
The Vehicle Interior: With the exception of a couple very small holes on the driver’s seat. I am told these happened many years ago by a family member who occasionally had use of the car. Apart from this, there is no sign that the car has ever been smoked in. The vehicle interior is in really nice condition and exceptionally clean. The cloth roof has no sagging at all. The original factory carpets are in immaculate order and have a deep pile. They have been protected by black Volvo rubber mats from new. The rear seating compartment has seen little use considering the age of the car. The front passenger compartment is similar. The dash, door trims and all switches are unmarked and work perfectly. Even the over mats are in excellent condition. “I can’t stress enough how nice perfect the interior is”. Please see my pictures.
The Wheels and Tyres: All four Volvo branded alloy wheels are in perfect condition. There isn’t as much as a chip as they have recently had a refurbishment. They suit the car perfectly. All four tyres are in excellent condition with good tread depth. The tyre sizes are 185 65 R15.
The Body Work and General Condition: There are a few small blemishes as you would expect on a used car. The worst being a couple of scratches on the passenger side. And perhaps the odd chip here and there. The exterior paint and panels are in really nice condition. Every panel gap is exact and the metallic paint has a good shine. The inner wheel arches are very clean and the underside is clean and rock solid.
So, what are you buying?
A rare low mileage Volvo 940, Supplied with an excellent main dealer servicing history. The car drives really nicely. The exterior body panels and underside is all in excellent order. The interior, engine compartment and boot are as nice as you will see. My Volvo comes with a healthy mot history and service record. Absolutely everything works as it should. There is nothing for the new owner to attend to. Not concourse by any means. Just a really nice, usable classic. Ready to drive away.
